In a recent survey by event management company etouches, 239 event planners shared their technology pain points throughout the event lifecycle. The results suggested that event tech is often a key pain point, with many choosing to minimize the use of tech tools or to not use them altogether. Other pain points included targeting the right people with the right content, attendee registration, event logistics and communicating with attendees.
Etouches’ survey showed that, despite these somewhat universal pain points, event tech tools such as venue sourcing tools, mobile apps for communication and Strategic Management Meeting (SMM) programs are woefully underused.
On the bright side, 65% of respondents indicated that they were at least measuring event ROI post-event. Meanwhile, for event suppliers such as hotels, event tech is increasingly being utilized to manage the growing number of proposal requests they are receiving. For example, Cvent’s new Group Business Intelligence tool is designed to provide real-time data and analytics of hotels’ group business leads (and those of their competitors) in a single platform, helping hotel sales staff prioritize incoming queries and score leads.
